Watchlist Mesh screening configurations
Overview
A Watchlist Mesh screening configuration combines source collections with matching rules. Source collections determine which lists are searched. Matching rules determine how applicant details are compared with those lists.
Configurations apply to individual COMPLYADVANTAGE: Query watchlists tasks in Studio, so different workflows can reference different configurations. These settings do not change the account-level configuration used by the original Watchlist reports.
For task inputs, outputs and workflow setup, see the Watchlist reports guide.
Choosing screening settings
The original Watchlist reports use screening settings established at account setup, including the categories screened, matching sensitivity and source lists. Changing those settings requires Entrust Support.
With Mesh, each Query watchlists task can reference its own screening configuration. For example, one workflow can screen against sanctions and PEPs, while another uses all five Mesh AML categories, including Adverse Media and Fitness and Probity. Select the configuration appropriate to the workflow's risk and compliance requirements.
Source collections and matching rules are configured together in ComplyAdvantage. To reduce false positives and false negatives, discuss the required source coverage and matching behavior with Support. Individual matching rules are not edited in the Studio task; the task references the configuration through its ID.
Settings available in Studio
Open the Query watchlists task's Configuration tab to set the following fields:
| Setting | Task configuration field | Available values | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Screening configuration | screening_configuration | Standard (standard) or AML (aml) | Selects the default screening configuration and the categories used for the result breakdown. |
| Custom id | custom_screening_configuration | A custom configuration ID supplied by Entrust Support, or empty | Overrides the default configuration ID sent to ComplyAdvantage. Leave empty to use the selected default. |

|---|---|---|

Requesting a custom configuration
Contact your CSM or Client Support to request a custom screening configuration. Discuss the source collections and matching rules required for your use case, including how to balance false positives and false negatives.
Entrust Support creates the configuration in ComplyAdvantage and provides its ID. Custom configurations cannot be created through the Dashboard, and connecting your own ComplyAdvantage account is not supported.
When Support supplies the ID:
- Open the relevant Query watchlists task in Studio.
- Select the Standard or AML screening configuration agreed with Support. This selection still determines which category breakdowns are evaluated, even when a custom ID is supplied.
- Enter the supplied ID in Custom id.
- Repeat for any other tasks or workflows that should use this configuration.
Before publishing the workflow, confirm with Support that the custom configuration's source collections match the selected category coverage. Providing a custom ID does not automatically enable additional category breakdowns.
For example, if your custom configuration includes Adverse Media and Fitness and Probity but you select Standard in Studio, those AML-only category results are not returned. Select AML alongside the custom ID to include those categories in the task results.
